In recent years there has been a significant increase among low-cost airlines serving French destinations, and this continues to develop on an annual basis. The difficulty with this is that low-cost airlines generally use regional airports, information about which rarely appears in print.

The main airport hub in France is Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, but there are international airports serving all major cities and numerous regional airports.

In the south of France, Bordeaux international airport provides fast access to the south and west of the country. In the Rhone-Alpes, Lyon Saint Exupery international airport is ideal for anyone travelling to the Alps.

Airports used by budget carriers from the UK are often small and often located far more conveniently for your destination than the international airports.

Here are direct links to most French airports; some are in French only, but the advantage of the direct link is that it provides a constant stream of up-to-date information.
